Dr. Aaron Kusano is a born-and-raised Alaskan, joining our practice in 2015.
Dr. Kusano completed his undergraduate studies in biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins University, followed by a master’s degree in cancer epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health. He is a graduate of the Alaska WWAMI program and during medical school at the University of Washington took a year off to complete a fellowship in applied epidemiology at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA.
During his residency in radiation oncology, also at the University of Washington, Dr. Kusano was an active researcher in safety in radiation oncology. He has led educational sessions at national conferences in radiation oncology quality and holds appointed positions in the Alaska WWAMI Program and the University of Washington Department of Radiation Oncology. He is director of the AVRTC’s brachytherapy program and serves as Medical Director.
Alaska has always been his home, and he is ecstatic to be back practicing in the neighborhood he grew up in. He looks forward to using his training and expertise within our practice to provide compassionate, top-quality care to Alaskans.
Dr. Seible first visited Alaska as a boy on a fishing trip. He
is now thrilled to live in Anchorage with his family and raise his young kids
in such a vibrant community.
Starting with undergraduate studies in biochemistry and
molecular biology at UC Santa Barbara, Dr. Seible went on to earn his M.D. from
Harvard Medical School before returning to the West Coast for a residency in
radiation oncology at UC San Diego. During his training, Dr. Seible developed a
passion for caring for diverse and underserved populations. He has been active
in the leadership of multiple initiatives to address health disparities in
cancer care, and enjoys partnering with patients from all walks of life to
achieve their goals for care. He is committed to educational outreach for both
patients and pre-Health students, and he directs the ANION (Alaska Native
Internship in ONcology) program for high school and college students that is
based at ARTC.
When not at work, you may
find him exploring in the outdoors with his family, Nordic skiing, paddle
boarding, fishing, or bore tide surfing. Dr. Seible is also fluent in
Spanish.
Dr. Yordy always dreamed of living in Alaska. After his third visit, he made the permanent move to the Mat-Su Valley.
Dr. Yordy is a graduate of the Medical Scientist Training Program at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he earned his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. Following the completion of residency in Radiation Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Dr. Yordy joined the faculty at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, working as a physician scientist. He worked in the clinic as well as directed a translational research lab testing new drugs that could be combined with radiation therapy to make radiation treatments more effective.
Prior to medical and graduate school, Dr. Yordy was able to visit and experience many different parts of the world, as well as work in several interesting jobs.
As an outdoor enthusiast, Dr. Zabrocka always dreamt of exploring beautiful Alaska. She is now very excited to practice here and call it her home.
Following obtaining her M.D. degree from Medical University of Bialystok, Poland, Dr. Zabrocka completed residency in radiation oncology at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook, serving as a chief resident in the final two years of residency.
During her training, Dr. Zabrocka was actively involved in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives. She also worked on research projects focusing on predicting treatment outcomes in cancer patients and exploring new treatment approaches. Her clinical interests revolve around advanced radiation delivery techniques, relationship-centered care, and interdisciplinary approach to cancer treatment.
She is thrilled to be a part of AVRTC and looks forward to leverage her training and skills to provide exceptional care to our patients.
Outside of work, Dr. Zabrocka enjoys hiking, biking, swimming, and traveling.
